Should NH pursue expanded commuter rail?
"HIGH SPEED MATERIAL TRANSPORT V. Commuter Rail It's better for children/families, more sustainable, less expensive, better for NH economy, safer and better for the tourist industry to move materials from job site to job site (called distributed manufacturing) than to move people to jobs. With Information Technology and automation/robotics people can work closer to home to make products, grow food and make sub-assemblies and then move those items at high speed to places where they are needed or places where sub-assemblies can be put together to make a total assembly. Moving materials is easy with small self driving vehicles and where practical, on dedicated ways, like along rights of way of an Interstate highway (already approved by Congress) for initial projects. I envision 'vehicles' about the size of airline containers that can travel at up to 200 miles/hr. on captured 'lite' rail roadways or conventional roadways. The roadways can be enclosed for safety and eliminate the adverse effects of weather. They might also be covered using solar panels. Because they are small the roadways can be attached to existing bridges and where necessary can be elevated or run underground. All 'vehicles' need to travel in the same direction and the same speed and use exit and on ramps as do the Interstate Highways. Moving forward, the vehicles/roadways can be and should be electrified, thus reducing pollution. Note that new power plants are being developed to provide walk-away safe, greenhouse gas free and economical electricity that will facilitate the unlimited use of electric vehicles (EV's). The money available for the study of transportation, such Commuter Rail, needs to be spent on developing a useable demonstration project, done by NH's Tech. Institute, instead of wasting it on another useless study. William E. Fortune, Industrial Consultants Inc Lee, NH 603 365 0251 P.S. This system can also be used to move people at higher speeds that can be achieved using existing roadways. COMMENTS BY OTHERS: Rep. Ken Weyler suggests that the system can also contain electrical and fluid lines. Rep. Bing Judd suggests the system can be used to get people/supplies to The Balsams as did the Snow Trains that brought people from Boston to Warner in the early -mid 1900's."

Should NH add a broad-based sales tax?
"NH people already pay about a 300 % tax on electricity compared to the free market price. NH people already pay up to a 65 % tax on all consumer goods and services. this means they less a person earns the higher their % of their income goes to taxes."

MORE FREE COLLEGE NEEDED.
I was at the Dover District Court Thursday AM and saw an overflowing court room; a line into the hallway. A bailiff told me it's like this almost every week".
If the kids had more free college they could afford to rent a room away from the campus so they wouldn't get arrested doing drugs and booze. They could afford a car and a private apartment and "support the local economy".
So when UNH begs for another $75 million and more in subsidies next term please consider giving up your home to HELP those poor kids.
One young woman told me that she needs to smoke and do drugs because she is "so stressed". She has to go to college because she's so poor.
UNH's rep Dave Waters will say that people at UNH need to get more $$$ so they can help those poor kids. Please help !

Should New Hampshire continue to participate in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which requires utilities to purchase allowances for every ton of carbon they emit?
"RPS is unnecessarily expensive and doesn't begin to solve the problem ! 2. Affordable Clean Energy to end Greenhouse Gas production and stop Man Made GW/CC. Solar too expensive; $ 60,000 +, with batteries /household and still not enough to significantly reduce fossil fuel. I propose to have the already taxpayer funded new technology, Factory Built, Greenhouse Gas Free, Walk-Away Safe, Economical power plants built in NH, NOT CHINA, and installed on Federal/State land/bases. 'Power generated in NH sold to NH First'; estimated rate 6 cents/kwh or less, down from 18 cents & going up ! Lower energy costs allow companies to compete and pay higher wages. People keep more & decide where to spend want they earn."

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?
"talking about/ having more guns gives a false sense of security; ppl not dealing with issues like N. Korea and nuclear weapons. Gun control or lack thereof does not address the 'broken' family which is responsible for much of the mental health problems. Many studies: girls that don't have a positive relationship/ their father have more serious and more frequent emotional problems. What's needed: Improve mental health, reduce violence, less welfare. Implement the Fatherhood Initiative and other techniques to show how to resolve emotional issues by using relationships, based upon 'Getting the Love You Want'; do it yourself replacement therapy. Request studies that show what girls need from their fathers to develop into emotionally healthy adults. Children from 'intact' 2 parent families get a better head start; not starting in First Grade. Less money for 'education'/school social workers."
