Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?

"I support funding a free and appropriate education based upon the educational needs of the child."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"I believe that women's health choices are personal decisions. A woman is welcome to consult with her family, her doctor, her church, and anyone else she trusts to help her with her decision. The decision, however, is hers."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the second trimester (e.g. after 15 weeks gestation)?

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?

"The majority of the business owners that I've talked to are proud to pay the NH BET/BPT, which when combined comprise about 40% of the state revenue. If we continue to cut the BET/BPT rates, we will reduce the state revenue and will need to make up for it in other ways."

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?

"I'm for incentivizing energy solutions that reduce pollution and overall energy cost. These include renewables as well as exploring new nuclear technologies."

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?

"I want to support people who inadvertently show up without an ID but who are also well-known to people working the polls. These people may be elderly or have disabilities that make it difficult for them to travel to the polls. At the same time, we also need to protect election integrity. The affidavit solution may help address these two sides, but I think we probably can do better."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?

"I support local control and want to protect the rural character of Hollis. At the same time, we have a housing crisis in NH that is resulting in extremely high costs to own or rent. As such, I would support reasonable solutions, such as accessory dwelling units (ADUs - also known as inlaw apartments) that enable gentle density growth while also protecting the character and natural resources of our town."

Should the state increase funding for child care providers?

"I support efforts to help address our workforce shortage. Having access to child care is a big piece of that, but I would need to see the proposed policy to make sure it helps grow our economy."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2024

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"The current solution is inequitable in many ways. For example, it does not address the educational needs of children who are in areas that are property poor. We need to work on solutions that enable a free appropriate education regardless of your income or where you live."

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?

"It depends upon the legislation. I don't object to marijuana use by adults, but I'd want the legislation to protect minors as well as not have a negative impact on therapeutic use."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?

"The wages in the fair market are driven by workforce availability and currently far exceed the minimum wage. Wages in critical areas, such as with our health care and direct care providers, however, can be influenced by the minimum wage. We need to address those wages to attract and retain the workforce in those areas."

Should NH require local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement?

"Above all, I do not support illegal immigration. Our local law enforcement already communicates with ICE as needed; there is no need to add more to their plate."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2024

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?

"I am for addressing the causes of gun violence. The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions suggests that the leading causes of gun violence are: income inequality, poverty, underfunded public housing, under-resourced public services, underperforming schools, lack of opportunity, and perceptions of hopelessness. We should address those issues."
