"I think we need to get to the root of the problem - what is causing this kind of behavior. There is not a simple answer to this question. We need to invest resources in prevention, detection, and treatment. This issue affects everyone. Today, it could be your next door neighbor or their child that is having drug issues. We need to increase our efforts to address this issue."

"I would have to study this issue some more to give my opinion on how to proceed."

"This issue is part of the housing issue for young workers. We can raise the minimum wage but in most cases these young workers still can't afford housing in the state. Plus, when the minimum wage increases those businesses just pass on the cost to their customers thereby increasing basic costs such as housing. It is a cycle that we need to break."

"Younger worker leave New Hampshire because of the housing costs are just too high for their budgets. We need to increase workforce housing and provide incentives for the public sector to invest in these facilities. Until we make these kinds of improvements so our young people don't seek employment elsewhere we will continue to have a drain to the pool of our younger workers."

"I think it is an interesting issue but I think the FMLA covers the ability to people to take off time from work to address these kinds of issues. The state has some larger issues to tackle like the drug, job, housing, and economic issues."

"I am in support of the gun laws we have currently but we need to make sure they are enforced. People in the state of New Hampshire who have firearms that follow the laws and are not the people we need to be concerned about. It is the people who have access to them illegally that we need to be concerned about. Let's address that segment of the population, not all gun owners."

"In a limited way, yes, possibly providing the tax dollars that would have gone to the school districts to provide an education for these children could be used for this purpose."
