Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"Families have always had the option to pay for their children to attend either a charter, private or religious school. In 2021 the NH legislature passed the Freedom Accounts and since then, for the first time, our state now pays for those educational alternatives. Our legislature passed this law but never funded it. These un-budgeted state dollars take money away from our public schools to fund individual students at charter, private and religious institutions. I do not agree with this premise. Our public schools need more funding from the state, not less. Diverting funds from public education only adds more burdens on the taxpayers."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"The decision to have or not have an abortion before 24 weeks is a privacy issue between the woman and her family and medical advisors. It is not my decision; it is not the state's decision; it is the mother's decision. NH needs to continue to guarantee the right to access abortion before 24 weeks. I support codifying into NH law which passed in the House lastt session, but failed in the Senate."

Should New Hampshire ban discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3?
"You don't talk to someone in grades K-3 like you talk to someone in grades 4-8, but that does not mean you don't talk to them in terms that make sense for that age group! There should be picture books available to reflect families today - which are far different than when I grew up in the 50's with Dick and Jane!"

Do you support the state law that bans teaching certain concepts, such as the idea that people may be "inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously"?
"This was never an issue in our state of NH. It certainly was not an issue in either Chichester or Pittsfield, the towns I hope to represent. This is an example of a National Agenda being set by a fringe group, who then recruit (and support $$$) people to run for office to put into place a law to fix a problem that isn't there."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?
"Although a personal income tax would benefit me greatly as a retired individual with minimum income, I understand that no-income tax has become over the years a part of our states identity. In the present atmosphere, I do not think NH should add an income tax."

Should NH add a broad-based sales tax?
"I do not believe our state will ever pass either an income or sales tax. However, it is time to find some new mechanism to add a new revenue stream to reduce the burden of the high property taxes in our towns."

Should New Hampshire add a tax credit for businesses that contribute to student loan repayment for employees?
"Yes. I think this is an excellent example of good collaboration between the state, businesses and the work force. This is a Win-Win approach for our state and (of course!) the residents of Chichester and Pittsfield."

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?
"The larger businesses in our state should be paying for the privilege of operating in our beautiful state, which offers their employees the benefit of no income tax. However, it benefits our smaller businesses and start-ups to lower business taxes if our budget can accommodate it."

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?
"The ski industry is an example of how climate change affects our state and reduces our state's revenues. When we don't have snow, we don't have out-of-staters spending money at our restaurants, stores and hotels and paying our meals and hotel taxes. The state needs to add more incentives for consumers to be more energy efficient. Some simple examples are, to expand net metering for those who invest in solar energy, provide rebates to those who buy electric vehicles and do what several of our neighboring states have done and provide an incentive for bringing your own bags to the grocery stores. The state needs to ramp up its educational component for students, to teach them the affects of climate change and the simple steps they can take to make meaningful changes for the good of the environment and its future."

Should New Hampshire add a fee or mileage charge for electric vehicle owners to help pay for transportation and/or electric infrastructure?

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Lack of housing has reached a critical level in our state. We have businesses which cannot expand because they can't find the necessary work force due to lack of affordable housing. I volunteer at a food pantry and the increase in un-housed individuals is upsetting. I have met young people who are employed and living in their cars because they cannot afford their increased rent. We need to find multiple ways to expand affordable housing including encouraging municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development."

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?

Should New Hampshire extend the renewable portfolio standard past 2025, requiring public utilities to obtain more than 25% of electricity from renewable energy sources?
"This is a serious issue and we are constantly reminded of the affects of global warming, most recently with the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian in Florida. When fossil fuels are burned, they emit greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide that trap heat in the earth's atmosphere and contributes to climate change. NH has to be better at looking at alternative renewable resources. It is good for our environment and it is good for our pocket books!"

Should the state increase funding for child care providers?
"Our children are our future. We need to provide our children with every opportunity to be successful adults. Currently, families often entrust their most valuable asset -their children, to workers who do not even earn a livable wage. If there is an opportunity for us to start to rectify this scenario, we need to explore all options to accomplish that."

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"NH ranks #50 out of the 50 states with how much it contributes to public education. The burden is shifted to the homeowners through high property taxes to cover the cost of public schools. This needs to change and if I earn your vote to serve the people of Pittsfield and Chichester in the NH Legislature, this will be a top priority for me. The needs of homeowners, educators and our children, all need to be considered. Over the years, our students' issues have changed and our towns have been forced to absorb these additional costs through increased property taxes. Budgets are cut to the detriment of our teachers and students, for the purpose of reducing property taxes. It is time for our state and our legislature to pay attention to the cries of homeowners and families in Pittsfield and Chichester and work out a solution that benefits all parties."

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?
"If we need to legalize recreational marijuana, we need to reap the financial benefits as a state. I would like the revenue to be tied to funding education and property tax relief, I support the measure that will provide the state with the better tax revenue and operational oversight. Both components are critical to the success of a rollout."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?
"In 2007, I was proud to stand next to Governor John Lynch when he signed our first minimum wage increase in 10 years to $7.25. Two years later the Federal government did the same. 17 years later our minimum wage remains at $7.25 an hour. Many say this is irrelevant since there are currently more jobs than employees. What happens when that dynamic shifts and we still default to the $7.25 minimum wage? A $7.25 minimum wage is disrespectful and is a detriment when individuals are looking to move to our wonderful state. This needs to change."
