Do you support state contracts with faith-based organizations?
"I support any contract where the bidder meets the requirements and has the ability to perform We should never discriminate based on race religion color or creed. No contract should ever be written to exclude all but one provider or contractor under any circumstances."

Should New Hampshire add restrictions to the governor's powers during a state of emergency?

"NH already has the law allowing for the Legislature to take control of any emergency declaration by a simple majority vote of a concurrent resolution. Once done the governor cannot declare an emergency to take control over the same situation, it becomes a joint responsibility. This legislature refused to do what they are allowed in fact a concurrent resolution was proposed on the House floor its last session and only 57 state Representatives voted to take control, 10 were democrats. You would need to add a restriction that said no legislator could ignore their responsibility but why would they pass such a measure The law has all it needs but what we didn't have was a legislature willing to do its job and that is the voters fault."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire extend the renewable portfolio standard past 2025, requiring public utilities to obtain more than 25% of electricity from renewable energy sources?

"The state needs to understand the costs are transferred to the rate payers pockets and rate payers cannot afford higher rates. Remember we also need industry and they too are done fighting the highest energy costs in the area"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should there be a higher threshold for the size of state contracts that must be reviewed by the Executive Council (currently $10,000)?
"The amount of NO BID or SOLE SOURCE contracts is ridiculous. Allowing for multiple contracts at higher levels will only make it worse. The Executive Council work is already a secret with recording in explorer that needs a computer from 2004 without any updates to listen to them. We need transparency and that is what I strive for. And 10 year office leases are not the norm and serve as an example of what is wrong."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should a nominee’s political beliefs be an important factor when deciding on a judicial or executive branch appointment?

"Every person should be judged on the actions they have taken or not taken when faced with the need to decide what to do and how to accomplish the goal. The decision should be made on fairness of the act and whether the act harmed anyone. The candidate should also be vetted for whether they upheld the NH and US constitution as they swore an oath to do or whether they attempted to subvert one or both to achieve a political result without regard to it being detrimental the the rights of others."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire increase public access to reports of police misconduct?

"The job of law enforcement commands the highest morals and integrity. If there is a member who doesn't meet the standard they should leave and the public should have the opportunity to correct any wrong the person did while acting as a law enforcement representative"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Would you vote for Attorney General Gordon MacDonald to be chief justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court?
"If Gordon McDonald can answer the questions asked of him satisfactorily then yes. If he cannot show he has stayed true to his oath to uphold the Constitutions of the USA and NH then no."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Do you support the option of mail-in ballots for all voters, not just absentees?

"The integrity of the system is delicate Over the years i saw people find their names crossed off as already voting and they had not. My voting rights were taken the year the moderators and the Municipal Assoc decided to close the polls for snow. The moderator in Hudson posted polls were closed but allowed some people to vote using absentee ballots at the polls. His sign didn't say that. He then scheduled a new voting day that many of us were unaware because he didn't advertise. The legislature had to pass a bill making the entire election legal because it wasn't. Those of us who lost our rights made no difference. Projects with bonds passed because only some were allowed to vote but we all have to pay. That was an example of what power over the elections can do, with massive mail in it will only get worse."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should NH legalize the recreational use of marijuana?

"NH cannot legalize marijuana in any form or use it can only agree to have no state penalties and refuse to enforce the federal prohibition. The current use of the word legalize when referring to medical marijuana has caused unwitting persons to get a card only to find out they can no longer own or possess a gun or ammunition, drive a commercial vehicle , obtain a security clearance and other problems. Legalization can only be done by federal legislators, claiming to do it on the state level is simply passive gun confiscation"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?

"NH should allow employers to pay a wage commensurate with ability and need . Raising the minimum makes automation more fiscally advantageous and removes opportunity for those at base level job skills aking it more difficult for them to advance quickly"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire increase the size of solar panel installations that may participate in net energy metering?

"Net metering needs to be better defined before I can make a decision. No subsidies and the cost cannot be transferred to the utility customers not served by the installations"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire increase subsidies and tax credits for business investment?

"If a business needs taxpayers to subsidize then the individual taxpayer should become a partner and invest. I do not believe in handing out money without a return"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Are you open to approving no-bid state contracts?
"Its not my money so every penny spent should be accounted for and justified. Continuously granting no bid and sole source contracts allows for waste at the expense of taxpayers. I highly doubt the members of the Executive Council over the last 10 years included people who just walked into an auto dealer and paid full price because it was their money and they didn't care. Why did they think they should do it with other peoples money."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire increase the base amount of per-pupil funding it provides to local school districts?

"The state has no money of its own. All decisions on spending are local decisions and increasing funds from the state level will quickly become a method for Concord to make all the local decisions on schools.Every dollar will come with a string attached. The Constitution requires mandates be funded but once a mandate has been accepted it remains a mandate forever and that when adequate funding ends and local taxpayers pay the bill."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Do you support Gov. Sununu's proposal to allow employers and employees to opt-in to a private, paid family and medical leave insurance plan, based on a pool of state employees, excluding coverage for personal illness?

"The employees should be able to buy whaever coverage they want , no exclusions"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire continue to participate in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which requires utilities to purchase allowances for every ton of carbon they emit?

"The ratepayers pay and the ratepayer isn't fooled by idea it makes a cleaner environment"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire create a road usage fee?

"If NH is to equalize the cost of all vehicle use of the roads a fee not attached to 1 fuel source is necessary To do that all fees on oil based products for roads would need to be repealed for NH residents only allowing for a road tax on non state resident road users."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire create a statewide family and medical leave program, paid for with a percentage of employee wages, with no opt-out?

"There was a plan for a private company to bid on supplying ins policy for family medical leave. There were 11 companies that expressed great interest and the rates would be based on state, county and municipal employees to start. It would be totally paid for by employees excluding the minimal policy currently afforded to them by labor contract . The state would save money by not self insuring for what it provides now. That policy makes everyone have 'skin in the game' and works best for both sides"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?

"See: Seattle, Portland , Louisville, NYC......."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire provide student loan debt repayment programs for workers in industries with labor shortages?

"I have advocated for debt repayment for doctors who pledge 5 or more years in remote areas in need and would agree to do the same for nurses and home health care workers I would not advocate for others who should make such a deal with local companies in need of their services. Again the business needs a partner it shouldn't be taxpayers"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire add tax incentives for affordable housing development?

"Affordable housing doesn't need tax money it needs a community interested in working with builders who are willing to build. If the community is willing to change the land use regulations to make it work then affordable housing wins. Its not about buying a builders project its about making the project work by revamping the land use regulations."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2020

Should New Hampshire allocate tax revenues for private and home schooling costs?

"If every child receives he same amount of money from the taxpayers then every child should be able to use it to receive the best education they can receive."
