"Thanks to the diligence and courage of the NH House and Senate, as well as the hard work of the Josiah Bartlett Center, the Governor's veto of the School Choice Choice Scholarship Act is overridden. When fully implemented, this law will increase educational opportunities for NH low-income families, and is a long-overdue victory in favor of academic choice in New Hampshire."

"We need to stop back door, illegal immigration. It's a threat to our economy and to our national security. I will not support any legislation that does not first address border security and I will not support any legislation that provides amnesty for those who came here illegally. We should remove any incentives for people who came here illegally to stay - like public benefits, free tuition, driver's licenses, etc."

"As a gun owner myself, I am a strong supporter of an individual's right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment. I believe that a person should be able to own and use firearms for any lawful purpose that they choose."

"When I was in high school, the national debt was around $2 trillion. Now, my kids are in high school, and the debt has exploded to $19 trillion. Worse, the interest we pay on the debt - about $230 billion per year - is the fastest growing part of the federal budget. Washington's addiction to chronic deficit spending must stop. Creating and maintaining fiscal discipline will not be quick, easy, or painless. But it is vital to our economy and to our future."

"Free markets will do far more to promote energy conservation and increase domestic energy production than government subsidies, tax breaks for favored industries, and burdensome regulations. ... One of the worst things that Congress could do is pass the so-called Cap and Trade bill. This is little more than a thinly disguised multi-billion dollar National Energy Tax. The American people soundly rejected the Democrats' carbon tax in the 1990's because they knew it would cripple our economy while sending more money to Washington where it will be wasted. We must reject Cap and Trade for the very same reasons."

"The U.S. tax code is a mess. Taxpayers are frustrated and our economy is strangled. I support a flat, fairer tax code which eliminates loopholes and lowers the rate for capital gains and corporate taxes - all steps which unleash economic growth and help create jobs. By eliminating loopholes which lobbyists can exploit we can lower the tax burden on individuals and encourage investment in our economy."

"Our nation owes a debt to our veterans. As individuals and a nation we must honor those who defended our country. After years of scandals we must rebuild our veterans system from the ground up. Fundamental to this reform is allowing veterans to receive the best quality care, nearest to where they live, from whatever hospital they choose. We owe them no less."

"Americans are suffering under the high cost of health care. Obamacare promised us better care and lower costs. It failed. Instead, it effectively instituted a government takeover of the health insurance market, raised taxes, limited consumer choice, and created a new entitlement on top of the struggling entitlements we already have. However, by focusing on repeal over reform, Republicans have left Americans with little confidence in either party to address this issue. Common sense health care reform should address access to insurance as well as the underlying costs of medical care, and do so in a way the empowers individuals with choice, price transparency, and freedom from mandates, while incentivizing medical professionals toward innovation."
