Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"I am against this, as I think that my policy to encourage students to apply across district lines is a much better solution to this issue. I am however, in favor of an alternative proposal, which is a state property tax deduction for home school or private school expenses, with some reasonable limitations."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"Allowing abortions only before the third trimester is a fair limit on the right to abortion, but exceptions need to be made in the cases or rape, incest, and to protect the life of the mother."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the second trimester (e.g. after 15 weeks gestation)?
"Allowing abortions only before the third trimester is a fair limit on the right to abortion, but exceptions need to be made in the cases or rape, incest, and to protect the life of the mother."

Should New Hampshire ban discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3?
"I am undecided on this, because again, I am against a state law banning the teaching of certain concepts, however I do not think it is appropriate to have any sort of sexual discussions before fourth grade, as we should let kids to enjoy their childhoods at that time in their lives without yet being brought into the complexities of sexual matters."

Do you support the state law that bans teaching certain concepts, such as the idea that people may be "inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously"?
"I am undecided on this, because while I think that it is not a good idea to tell students, especially at a young age, that people may be or are unconsciously racist, I am also against a state law banning the teaching of certain concepts. My position on this is that I think we should be teaching more of the underlying subject that folks seem to want taught more of as it relates to this issue, which is the history of people of color in America. They form an essential part of our history, and definitely deserve more time devoted to them in our history classes."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?
"Earned Income a form of income that we should not be taxing, because it affects only working folks, which we want to encourage, not discourage."

Should NH add a broad-based sales tax?
"A sales tax is a regressive tax that disproportionately affects lower-income individuals, and therefore has no place in NH."

Should New Hampshire add a tax credit for businesses that contribute to student loan repayment for employees?
"In no way should we encourage policies that deal only with the effects of high tuition without addressing the root cause. Such policies will only allow the problem to get worse without really facing it."

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?
"The business tax is a predictable, expected, and built-in tax that makes up a substantial portion of our budget. I am against lowering it, not because I am for it, but because I see no better alternative, and prefer its stability."

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?
"I believe that government solutions to this problem will be ineffective as the market will always find a way around them. I do believe in ending any oil subsidies that we can though, to make the cost we pay for energy more accurately reflect the cost to produce it."

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?
"This seems only fair, and shouldn't have any impact on legitimacy."

Should New Hampshire add a fee or mileage charge for electric vehicle owners to help pay for transportation and/or electric infrastructure?
"We should do anything we can to encourage the adoption of more sustainable transportation, as this will be a big issue going forward, and charging a fee like this will not help us get towards that goal."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Yes, this is a big issue, it is on my platform, and I would encourage a policy that makes affordable housing easier to build, but also puts an equivalent amount of land under conservation for all affordable housing that is built. I would also encourage more mixed-use zoning to improve urban design for towns."

Should New Hampshire extend the renewable portfolio standard past 2025, requiring public utilities to obtain more than 25% of electricity from renewable energy sources?
"It depends on whether this number is realistically achievable, and whether doing so would place an undue burden on the utilities and on utility prices. We are going to have to prepare for a world with less oil production, but the rate at which we do so will require careful consideration so that we are not stuck with unjustly higher energy bills as oil production gradually decreases."

Do you support the option of mail-in ballots for all voters, not just absentees?
"We should do everything we can to make the fundamental right of citizens to vote as accessible as possible."

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"Yes, but very importantly, in my platform, I support the right of parents and students to apply across school districts, and if they are accepted, they should be paying the appropriate difference in school/property taxes, and parents should have to drive their students to that school to not affect the bus lines. This provides a sensible alternative to school-choice."

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?
"While I do not wish to encourage the use of marijuana, I am generally in favor of its legalization, as long as it has as-strict or stricter controls than alcohol and tobacco. The reason for this is that history has taught us that regardless of the law, people will continue to consume, and therefore we may as well make it as safe as we can through regulation, and put those revenues in the hands of NH, where it can be put to better use repairing the damage that is already being done, rather than continuing to allow illegal dealers to profit from it."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?
"I am undecided on this because I do not think it will have any substantial effect either way. Most entry-level jobs in NH now start at nearly double the minimum wage."

Should the state permanently increase how much tax revenue it shares with towns and cities every year, beyond public school funding?
"I am undecided on this because more revenue sharing also means more responsibility sharing. I would consult with towns to see if they would want to take on these expanded responsibilities."

Do you support the gradual phase-out of the Interests and Dividends tax?
"This, like the property tax, is a progressive tax that often does not burden lower income individuals. It should be left as-is."

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?
"This is in my platform, as I am generally in favor of allowing folks to protect their home, but I think all reasonable and responsible gun owners I know, including myself, already have taken a safety course on the use of their weapon(s), and store them safely. It is therefore reasonable to make this a requirement in law for the purchase of new firearms, as long as out-of-state residents are also allowed to take the test, and tests are easily accessible and available to the public."
