Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"See the ReachingHigherNH.org website for information about the costs for this expanding school voucher/EFA program and its lack of accountability. Also, read the NH Constitution where it says 1) No new statute will be created in any state budget bill, and 2) No public funds will go to religious institutions."

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?

"According to the NH Fiscal Policy Institute Issue (NHFPI) Brief (8.2.23) 'New Hampshire relied on corporate taxes for a greater percentage of revenue than any other state in FY 2021. NH raised about 31% of total tax revenue through corporate income taxes, while the next highest state was New Jersey with about 14 percent.' Obviously any changes in NH business taxes would be impactful. The NHFPI determined that the 'rate reductions for the State's Business Profits Tax and Business Enterprise Tax implemented between 2015 and 2022 caused the state to lose between $496 million and $729 million in revenue.'"

Should New Hampshire add a tax on capital gains?
"Although NH currently does not have a capital gains tax similar to the federal government, it does have a real estate transfer fee. It also has had an Interest and Dividends tax which is being phased out. The NH Fiscal Policy Institute in its Blog (3.14.23) titled, Households with High Incomes Disproportionately Benefit from Interest and Dividends Tax Repeal, notes that the NH Department of Revenue Administration reported that the Interest and Dividends Tax collected $113.5 million in Tax Year 2020. Of that total, 1,723 taxpayers, or 2.5% of all filers, paid $59 million or 52% of the total tax revenue collected."

Should the state increase funding for child care providers?

"The NH Fiscal Policy Institute in its Blog (8.26.24) reports that the 'NH Child Care Scholarship Program funded through a state and federal fiscal partnership, subsidizes child care tuition to make child care affordable and accessible to families with low and moderate incomes.' Unfortunately, many parents are unaware of the program and due to a shortage of childcare workers, some families with the subsidy still cannot find an available slot."
