"Congress must ask now to confirm and protect Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. These young people are American in every sense, except on paper. They arrived to America as children, by no fault of their own. To be covered under the DACA program, these folks must go through extensive background checks. Not a single one of them have a criminal record. Upwards of 90% of them are employed. Many are students. Some are even serving our country in uniform. We made a promise to these remarkable young people that they could stay in America legally and build a life for themselves. It is out duty to honor these Undocumented Americans and keep our promise. Congress must act on DACA now."

"This morning I was privileged to attended the Interfaith vigil at the Norris Cotton Federal Building in Manchester in support of our immigrant communities that are required to report in monthly. When reporting in these immigrants do not know what will happen to them. Several are from our Indonesian community here on the seacoast, many are DACA, some are asylum seekers, some waiting to learn of their deportation status, all are at the mercy of our immigration authorities. Some will be placed in detention centers, all are at risk. The vigils are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 8:30am til about 10:00am. It brought me back to my experiences at Standing Rock. I hope to attend every month and would ask all who can to join me in solidarity with our immigrant communities and their supporters."

"We hear a lot about simplifying the tax code - but policy after policy from this administration and treasury department seem to favor simplifications for the wealthiest, who already have an upper hand in taking advantage of tax loopholes."

"Members of Congress in both parties should be debating how to make healthcare more affordable and accessible for all Americans. Instead, President Trump and his administration are lining the pockets of insurance executives and lobbyists by allowing insurance companies to offer healthcare plans that don't cover basic health needs. President Trump is systematically dismantling the regulations built into the Affordable Care Act that kept premiums low and plans affordable - and the Republican-controlled Congress has done nothing to stop him. Fewer insurers are willing to participate in the marketplace due to the White House's moves to destabilize the system, resulting in fewer options for consumers, higher premiums, and sub-standard care."

"The students, teachers, and parents of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida are living out an unthinkable tragedy today. The U.S. is the only country where tragedies like these continue to happen, and yet we do nothing. We have the power to make sure horrific days like today don't happen, and yet we do nothing. How can it be that the most developed country in the world is incapable of addressing gun violence?"

"The Pentagon is already developing disaster response strategies in anticipation of worldwide effects of global warming on populations faced with devastating droughts, increased food insecurity, and millions of refugees as populations flee to escape the consequences in their native lands.

"The debate between the environment against energy is a false one. It has been promoted by private energy lobbyists to cast those who care about our earth as fanatics. The future of a thriving economy will be built on clean and renewable energy. That's a good thing for the environment - but it's also good for the American worker, looking for high-paying, reliable jobs. America should be investing in clean energy solutions not just because we owe our grandchildren a viable planet, but because these are the jobs and the economy of tomorrow."

"There was a time when some folks suggested that calling for impeachment meant you weren't a serious candidate. I disagreed, and I said unequivocally that impeachment was a moral imperative. It is the responsibility of Congress to act as a check on Presidential power. With yesterday's disgraceful display in Helsinki, the urgency of impeachment is undeniable."

"New Hampshire's opioid and addiction crisis is not a criminal justice problem, it's a public health issue. Anyone who has been touched by the disease of addiction, whether here in my home state, or across the nation, knows that we cannot arrest our way out of this crisis. Addicts need access to rehabilitation and mental health services. ... These are the models and approaches for recovery that must be celebrated, utilized, and funded."

"At the end of the day, it isn't enough just for healthcare to be affordable. It needs to be provided and protected as a right for all Americans. I'm a Medicare recipient myself - it's the best healthcare coverage I've ever had. I'm in support of a Medicare for all system and will push for Universal Healthcare legislation in Congress."

"Any president within the past 20 years could have met with North Korea, that's what North Korea has wanted because it elevates their leadership. And my God, (Trump) is supposed to be a dealmaker? What a joke that is. The dealmaker who gives away the farm. ... Doesn't even tell our allies we're going to stop engaging in training exercises, and just gives that to Kim Jong-un ... And Congress is so cowed. I'm not afraid of Donald Trump."
