On the Strafford County Democratic Committee website Brown wrote, "Paying for education through property taxes is hardest on the middle class, Capital Sin Taxes (alcohol, tobacco, etc.) are trivial bandaids, and a sales tax would be regressive and destructive for people who work. New Hampshire needs to fund public education from general revenue. In my opinion, New Hampshire needs to bring back the investment/dividend tax to help fund education"
