"I take no issue on the terms of abortions, and the manner in which they may be approved or prohibited. My only position regarding Abortion is the manner in which it is funded. I vehemently oppose any government subsidy or spending being used towards the procurement of abortive services and support the removal of federal funding from private organizations that offer the service. However, my call for the defunding of organizations is in recognition that the services they render aside from abortions are critical for many lower-income women and families, and I firmly believe they could more efficiently offer those services without the regulatory stranglehold that comes with federal money, that only accounts for a small percentage of their total funding. With regards to the case by case basis approval of abortions, that is a decision of ethics and morals best left to the women and families involved, not government bureaucrats in DC."
