"I continue to be opposed to expanded gambling in our fine state. I believe that there are other means to obtain revenues that do not allow for the potential harm to the state. Much research that I have read indicates strong evidence that gambling does not, over time, add to the revenues or jobs in a state. However, it can compromise the quality of life of municipalities in which the gambling exists, as well as surrounding municipalities. Gambling can, and most probably will, increase crime. It may also foster addiction, thus expanding the need for social services. Expanded gambling promotes an inferior quality of life that is not in character with the small-state beauty that we are so fortunate to possess. The potential gain is not worth the risk. "

"I am against any efforts to repeal gay marriage or weaken the current status of the law. Same-sex marriage should stand because it is a question of equity and equality. When same-sex marriage stands it allows for similar rights for all. The state and more and more of the country are speaking out strongly in favor of same-sex marriage because it does not harm and it does good. I agree. None of us should allow discrimination and to repeal gay marriage would be to applaud discrimination."

"My position on the Right-To-Work legislation that I have read is that it interferes with the right to unionize. I believe that businesses can be run well and protect and support employees when they do not have unions. However, I also believe that unions should not be weakened by legislation and that current Right-to-Work legislation would have done just that. I do believe that legislation related to unions must strive for a balance between workers' rights and the rights of citizens and employers. As the daughter of an Irish immigrant I am aware of the struggles of citizens for reasonable work conditions and for the right to dignity and advancement. Unions have allowed such conditions to exist and they should be allowed to continue to do so."

"I am running for the N.H. House because I believe we are blessed to be in a democracy and that we all must do our part to keep it strong. Serving in the House is one way that I can do my part. I am amazed at the quality of life that our state and town have historically had; I think this quality of life is now in jeopardy; I am concerned about those who are most vulnerable in our state, about the lack of support for our state's infrastructure and for education systems. I am concerned about the push down of costs from the state to municipalities. I am concerned that people cannot afford both heat and medicine and that some people are not afforded health care at all. I promise to listen to perspectives on these issues and to be a voice for North Hampton in the Legislature."
