"Smarter Balance testing needs tremendous improvement to accurately measure standards with validity and reliability. Beginning testing of Common Core goals at third grade is too soon. Generally, too much classroom time is directed toward test preparation, the testing itself, or to curriculum which is test driven. The test making industry should be serving educators. At present, it serves us poorly, and its products, the tests our students are submitted to, are most driven by testing industry profit considerations."
