Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"The voucher program takes taxpayer money and gives it to private schools with almost no guardrails. It is hurting public education in NH. I am in favor of educational reforms but not this one."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"I would support repealing the criminal penalties against physicians that is part of the 24 week abortion ban, if we can't repeal the ban itself. Criminal penalties for OB/GYNs make them not want to practice in the state of NH because the possibility of having to perform such procedures in high risk situations would put them in legal jeopardy. Late term abortions are already extremely rare and happen when something is terribly wrong. The state should not be intervening in the doctor-patient relationship especially in such situations. We have a real problem with maternity programs closing in hospitals across the state. Let's not worsen the problem. Anti-abortion laws enacted in other states have put pregnant women at risk because physicians and hospitals are reluctant to treat complications from miscarriages out of fear of being accused of providing abortion."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?
"Yes, I believe a progressive income tax will help the citizens of NH more than it would hurt them to pay some income tax as people in most other states do. We have an underfunded education system, and could also invest that revenue in developing our renewable energy infrastructure, and implement tax credits for businesses and residents to install more energy efficient heating and cooling systems. When you don't have an income tax, you don't have tax credits as an effective tool to implement voluntary policies. Every state in New England does this except NH. It is extremely unlikely that an income tax would pass in this state, so it is not an issue on which I campaign."

Should NH add a broad-based sales tax?
"I am not in favor of a sales tax because it would have a disproportionately negative effect on working people."

Should New Hampshire add a tax on capital gains?
"We should also reinstate the Interests and Dividends tax which was recently repealed. Our over reliance on property taxes for revenue hurts working and middle class people in their retirement years. Their income is fixed and property taxes keep going up."

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?
"Absolutely! We need to move away from our reliance on fossil fuels, plan for rising sea levels, and address how the warming climate will affect our agriculture and other natural resources by investing in research in this area and long term civic planning."

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?
"I am opposed to any legislation that creates more barriers to voting. We don't have widespread voter fraud. The affidavit system worked fine before. "

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Changing zoning laws would be the best way to spur urban in-fill to create more housing. I believe the state should take the lead on this and still allow some degree of local control on how it's implemented. "

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?
"We should allow and create incentives for owners of residential rental properties to install solar and have net metering for their tenants. This will ultimately benefit the renters."

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"We need to correct the current funding formula which leaves children in poorer towns and cities with fewer educational resources those in wealthier communities. I believe in public education is the bedrock of a healthy democracy and all children should have the opportunity for a great education."

Should NH require local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement?
"Local law enforcement has enough on their plate to deal with local crime. We need the police that all people are not afraid to turn to for help without fear of negative consequences for their family. We need comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level. Clearly we have a labor shortage and we need to reform our immigration system to allow more workers to enter the country legally, not just the elites."
