Should New Hampshire ban abortion after 24 weeks gestation, with exceptions for cases of rape/incest and health complications?
"By 24 weeks a baby have robust breathing, heartbeats, brain waves, can feel pain, and respond to stimuli. A baby can kick, turn over, curl and fan her toes, make a fist, open her mouth and press her lips tightly together, and practice breathing. The preborn child's facial expressions resemble those of her parents. Her movements are vigorous and graceful. Her vocal chords and external sex organs are present, and the sex of the baby can be determined. The baby can now hear very clearly. Her eyelashes are now present and rapid eye movements (REM), indicative of dreaming, can be recorded. A very bright light shined on the mother's abdomen will cause the baby to slowly move her arms to cover her eyes. Very loud music will cause her to cover her ears."

Should New Hampshire add restrictions to the governor's powers during a state of emergency?
"Potentially. Governor Sununu has done a good job managing COVID but many other governors have abused the definition of 'emergency' and their newfound executive powers to the detriment of their citizens. An 'emergency' should have limited duration and clear criteria for starting/ending. The associated powers should be also clearly defined and narrowly limited to that emergency. The Senate/House can address or extend declared states of emergency for longer term issues (such as dealing with long term health concerns)."

Should New Hampshire extend the renewable portfolio standard past 2025, requiring public utilities to obtain more than 25% of electricity from renewable energy sources?
"We have the highest energy bills in the country, we should be looking to find ways to lower energy costs and not increase them by forcing energy companies to acquire more expensive energy."

Should New Hampshire increase public access to reports of police misconduct?
"NH should increase public access to government records across the board, not just police misconduct but any government agency records. Unless records must be kept private for individual privacy reasons, source selection sensitivity, or other valid reasons we should always seek to make them accessible to the public and be transparent."

Do you support the option of mail-in ballots for all voters, not just absentees?
"Absentee ballots or in person voting both work perfectly well and we need to do everything we can to protect the integrity of the voting process against abuse."

Should NH legalize the recreational use of marijuana?
"While there are numerous documents downsides of marijuana use (possible gateway drug, economic drain, side effects, etc.) there are also studies showing it is not any worse for society than alcohol (addictive properties, less short term or long term lethality, etc.) While I have never done drugs of any kind (or even smoked) I prefer to err on the side of individual freedom and not criminalizing the choice of informed citizens. I am seeking to get more input/data/science from both sides before taking a position."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?
"While I think the minimum wage is currently too low to be useful, I think the way to increase wages is to create more jobs/demand for workers. Businesses will fight for employees and raise wages naturally. We see that throughout southern NH currently, want to find ways to help in more rural areas."

Should New Hampshire increase subsidies and tax credits for business investment?
"Depends on the details. If the business investment pays for itself in increased state revenue (or cost savings) it's obvious. But generally the government should not intervene into businesses as it can skew natural market dynamics."

Should New Hampshire increase the base amount of per-pupil funding it provides to local school districts?
"Not arbitrarily. But if there is a specific reason to do so it may be appropriate. The state has limited funds and has to balance our low tax burden with sufficient support to lower-income districts."

Should New Hampshire create a road usage fee?
"NH needs funds to continue to invest in upgrading our infrastructure and it needs to come from somewhere. But opposed to tax increases and want to keep our costs low. Would depend on how funding was being used, duration, etc."

Should New Hampshire provide student loan debt repayment programs for workers in industries with labor shortages?
"Really depends on the details. How much money, what industries, how much of a shortage. Would want to work with industries to try to help offset costs and need to justify how any taxpayer dollars being spent benefit NH citizens and not just special industries."

Should New Hampshire allocate tax revenues for private and home schooling costs?
"I strongly support parents having the ability to choose whatever educational path works best for them. But the state shouldn't be subsidizing the wealthy to send their children to private schools. I support the current model and the independent children's scholarship fund approach to assisting needy families get access to improved educational options and would want to see that continue to grow/proliferate around the state."
