Should New Hampshire ban abortion after 20 weeks gestation, with exceptions for cases of rape/incest and health complications?
"Anytime the state criminalizes medical decisions there is danger that a woman will be denied proper treatment because her doctors and administrators will fear legal repercussions. Ireland rescinded its regulation of abortion in a referendum following the heart-breaking case where doctors delayed a medically-necessary abortion to comply with the law and that lead to the death of a young woman. This question puzzles me as we are an aging state - so far I haven't seen a question about that."

Should NH increase funding for heroin treatment programs?
"I support increased funding opioid treatment but not all treatment methods are equally effective. Research shows Medication-Aided Treatment (MAT) and counseling is more effective. We need to start treating opioid addiction like a chronic condition and ensure that we sufficient providers in the state to administer the medication needed for effective treatment."

Should NH do more to enforce federal immigration laws?
"As a tax payer, I expect law enforcement focus on public safety. If that means protecting a undocumented witness who will testify against a dangerous criminal or referring an undocumented convict for deportation, the focus needs to be on policing and public, not immigration. As an elected official, I will make sure our state's resource are used for their intended purpose. The Federal government has already allocated billions to enforce immigration laws."

Is police brutality an issue in NH?
"I support any best-practices in policing that are shown to improve public safety. Period. Community-policing for instance is a well-researched topic and we should try to apply those . I would challenged anyone who recommends we need some assault vehicles rolling through Windham to show me the research that it would improve safety. The same is true for other technology or policy change."

Should NH continue to administer statewide standards-based student assessments?
"Clearly, we all want to know how effective our schools are but the question is: how is the state using the information aggregated from students? Standards-based assessments administered over time can be useful if they are used to evaluate student growth and improvement over time. A school that can move D-students to C-students is probably better than a school where students stay a B grade level even though the second may have higher proficiency scores. Measuring improvement is also a more uplifting objective for teachers who have suffered greatly from the stress of teaching 'for the test'."
