"Taxes should be levied in a manner that balances the need for funding with the abilities for those to pay for funding in an equitable way. Currently our reliance on property tax alone casts a heavy burden on property owners without an eye on their ability to pay from income sources. I would only consider a tax on earned income if it was coupled with a spending cap and a requirement to see a reduction in the reliance on property tax used to provide support for local education."

"Taxes should be levied in a manner that balances the need for funding with the abilities for those to pay for funding in an equitable way. Currently our reliance on property tax alone casts a heavy burden on property owners without an eye on their ability to pay from income sources. A broad based sales tax is regressive compared with a more targeted and limited sales tax. I would only consider expansion of the sales tax if coupled with a comprehensive plan."
