"The most important issue we are facing in the destruction of the natural world - the extinction of species and habitat throughout the world on all the continents and oceans.
"Why Now?
"We have run out of Time. If we do not act now on a global basis, we will lose much of the natural heritage that we have enjoyed and used for millennia.
"If we allow this to happen God will not forgive us. Allow me to say, regardless of religious or spiritual heritage, humanism or simple common decency - humans are responsible for the state of the earth today and we are creating our own damnation. ( I am a Unitarian, not evangelical, but nothing I say is a metaphor)
"My Plan : I plan to bring this issue before the Democratic candidates for the presidency and demand that this issue be addressed. I will also bring this to the Republican candidates and any other candidates. If I do not get a full response from the Democrats, I will move to the Republicans.
"What I require from the Democrats: I require that the Democratic candidates and the nominee endorse this issue and commit to funding species and habitat protection and restoration though out the world to the tune of tens of billions of federal dollars. I also require that the federal lead and international campaign protect the natural world.
"Think Global, Act Global
There is nothing more local than the Earth you are standing on, the Sky that you Breathe, the Waters that flow through your veins, and the Light, the Spirit that Shines down upon you and gives you Life. We must act for the Earth entire, or nothing. As the most powerful nation on Earth, we have the responsibility of leading this fight."
