Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"Prior to 24 weeks, a woman's freedom to control her own body and make her own, private health care decisions should be paramount and enshrined in NH law.

"Abortion after 24 weeks gestation is only performed for severe fetal abnormalities, not for convenience.  If the mother's health is at risk after 24 weeks, then an early delivery of the baby is undertaken, not abortion. It's a misconception that a baby after 24 weeks can be aborted strictly for social reasons. However, these decisions are often complicated and nuanced, and should be made between a woman and her physician, without fear of criminal penalties, as is in current NH law."
