Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?

"Climate change is a complicated and global issue, here in New Hampshire we need to do everything we can to protect our state's natural landscape and ensure we have clean air and clean water. I have fought to stop out of state trash from being dumped in the North Country and support clean water initiatives including going after the polluters."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?

"We need more affordable housing in our state, and that begins with increasing the amount of homes being built and cutting any unnecessary and overburdensome regulations and mandates that drive up the costs of construction. I have spoken with too many home builders that tell me that they can be delayed as much as 18 months before starting a project because of regulations - fixing that will make a significant impact on the amount and price of starter homes in our state. When it comes to zoning ordinances specifically, I believe in local control and that local residents and elected officials should decide the future of their communities."

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?

"Lowering electric rates is a priority. We need an all of the above approach to energy to help lower costs. In the past I have supported community solar projects and will support any policy that prioritizes the rate payers of New Hampshire."

Should the state increase funding for child care providers?

"As a small business owner, one of the most valuable lessons we learned from COVID was how necessary child care is for NH's small business-based economy. There are many ways the state can and should improve child care in NH that go beyond just more funding. Last year's budget, which I supported, included provisions to improve childcare and maternal health dubbed 'Momnibus' which included millions of dollars in new resources. Additionally we need to look at licensing, regulation, and other impediments that child care providers face when trying to open a new facility or expand a current one."
