In 2022, Abbas voted to keep the Education Freedom Account program (SB 432). 

Sen. Abbas also voted for HB 367, a 2023 bill which increases the maximum household income limit for participation in the Education Freedom Account program, from 300% to 350% of the federal poverty guidelines.

In 2024 Sen. Abbas voted for SB 442, a bill that would raise the income cap for families participating in the EFA program from 350% to 400% of the federal poverty level.

Voted against HB 686, a bill that would extend the interest and dividends tax to capital gains and increase the exemptions and filing thresholds for the interest and dividends tax. HB 686 would have used the new capital gains tax revenue to increase per-pupil school funding and lower the state property tax rate.

Sen. Abbas voted to create a conditional "affidavit ballot" for voters registering on Election Day without ID (SB 418). However, in 2024 Sen. Abbas voted to repeal the option to fill out an affidavit and supply ID at a later date (HB 1569).

Sen. Abbas voted for SB 145, a 2023 bill to establish a New Hampshire Housing Champion Designation Program. Generally speaking, cities and towns that adopt land use regulations, water infrastructure, public transportation, and other programs that promote the development of workforce housing would have preferential access to state funds.

Voted against HB 1218, SB 159, and HB 365, all bills to increase the electric generating capacity of customer generators who may participate in net energy metering, generally from 1 megawatt to 5 megawatts.

Sen. Abbas voted against HB 88 and SB 181. Both bills would prohibit any new state restrictions on abortion, without changing the current ban on abortion after 24-weeks and the requirement for parental notification before a minor's abortion.

As a representative, Abbas voted against HB 186 (to gradually raise the minimum wage to $12/hour), HB 731 (to gradually raise the minimum wage to $15/hour), and SB 10 (to gradually raise the minimum wage to $12/hour). In the Senate, Abbas voted against SB 144 and SB 308, both of which would have raised the minimum wage to $15/hour.

On the 2018 Citizens Count issue survey, Abbas indicated, "I support a ban on abortion after 20 weeks gestation, with exceptions for cases of rape/incest and health complications." Abbas also voted for HB 625, a 2021 bill that would prohibit abortion after 24 weeks gestation, unless there is a medical emergency. That bill did not include exceptions for rape and incest.
