Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"To clarify: I believe life begins at conception and should be protected from there. But I am realistic that New Hampshire isn't there yet. 15 weeks... nearly 3 months is a good place to move to. it's close to where all of Europe is on restrictions, and when questioned about details, it's where most people think the line should be"

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the second trimester (e.g. after 15 weeks gestation)?

Should New Hampshire ban discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3?

"This is not a free speech issue, it is a child-abuse issue. Nobody but parents should be discussing sexuality of any kind with a third grader."

Do you support the state law that bans teaching certain concepts, such as the idea that people may be "inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously"?

"I am for a ban on PUBLIC schools telling children they are racist using taxpayer money. Completely private schools (that refuse all government support) can teach whatever they want."

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?

"Nuclear energy would reduce carbon emissions. That said, there is currently NO amount of 'greenhouse gas'. Emissions reduction that could have any effect on the planets climate without utterly destroying our economy."

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?

"I am against same day registration of any kind. Registering a short period of time before an election so that you can be confirmed is not an undue burden. This helps eliminate voter tourism and fraud, AND it eliminates concerns about secret ballot privacy. In some circumstances (but very few) people who move to the state RIGHT as an election happens will miss out on voting. This is a small enough number that it is acceptable. This has happened to me when I was in the military, as I voted where I lived, not where I was from."

Should New Hampshire add a fee or mileage charge for electric vehicle owners to help pay for transportation and/or electric infrastructure?

"Gas taxes are actually a very good proportional way to ensure that not only drivers, but those buying goods transported by vehicle are evenly bearing the burden. Eventually (not yet) there may be enough electric vehicles that this is an issue. However, I have not yet seen a suggested way of tracking mileage or adding fees to electric vehicle use that does not come with very serious privacy issues. I will not agree to any scheme that could be used (even surreptitiously) to track an individual's movement."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?

"This is too complicated a subject for this space, but broadly, I see two conflicting interests. First, and to answer what I think is your intended question, the state should not be mandating specific types of zoning based on a political push for 'dense' housing or any other kind. Local control is better. However, there is also a level of local control that slips into petty tyranny, limiting the use of privately held land to where a person's neighbor holds more interest in its use than he does. I am against this as well. Striking a balance between the two is a challenge."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2022

Should New Hampshire extend the renewable portfolio standard past 2025, requiring public utilities to obtain more than 25% of electricity from renewable energy sources?

"Though a long-term solution, not a short one, New Hampshire and the rest of the US should re-focus on safe, clean nuclear power"

Should New Hampshire guarantee the right to access abortion before 24 weeks?

"To clarify: I believe life begins at conception and should be protected from there. But I am realistic that New Hampshire isn't there yet. 15 weeks... nearly 3 months is a good place to move to. it's close to where all of Europe is on restrictions, and when questioned about details, it's where most people think the line should be"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2022

Do you support the option of mail-in ballots for all voters, not just absentees?

"Absolutely 100% against. Voting should happen on a single day, with limited exceptions for absentees."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2022

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"Keeping funding local is really the only way to keep control of how it is spent local."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?

"Though NH does not have a minimum wage, that de-facto makes ours the federal minimum (which is an abuse of federalism). Regardless, this idea should now have proven itself pointless. The entry level jobs that two years ago were targeted for a $15 minimum by the left are now advertising those rates willingly because of the market. Markets work, and because of that, the real minimum wage is always Zero, when employees are replaced with Kiosks."
