Should NH increase funding for heroin treatment programs?
"I believe drug addiction should be treated as a medical problem and not a criminal problem. People should not fear punishment by the law when they go to get help for themselves or anyone else. We need to help more people and help them more effectively, but we also need to track the rates of recidivism to see what actually works."

Was New Hampshire right to continue expanded Medicaid eligibility, using the traditional Medicaid system of managed care instead of private insurance?
"Healthcare in this country is profoundly broken, with sometimes bizarre ways of doing things due to historical reasons. There's no sane world where one's employer should be paying healthcare costs. Insurance companies often have perverse incentives where they increase costs to the consumer instead of reducing them as they should. Doctors are often offering far lower rates when one pays out of pocket rather than going through health insurance. I want to reduce costs and expand coverage to as many people as possible, but the problem is so complex that no one simple solution will fix things. I would probably vote to expand Medicaid eligibility though."

Should New Hampshire increase subsidies and tax credits for business investment?

Should New Hampshire maintain the renewable portfolio standard, which requires public utilities in New Hampshire to obtain a certain percentage of electricity from renewable energy sources (25% by 2025)?
"I support renewable energy, but I also realize that a broad mix of energy sources is needed to maintain a durable power grid. I would like to reduce the cost of renewable energy so that it becomes attractive to use more of it without subsidy or fiat."

Should NH continue to administer statewide standards-based student assessments?
"I am in favor of measuring things against hard metrics. Without metrics of success or failure, one is floundering in the dark and likely wasting precious resources. However, metrics have limits in what they measure and can encourage 'gaming' to improve the outcome as measured, but perhaps to the detriment of success in ways which are hard to measure."
