Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"As a home school mom, I understand a public school cannot fit the needs of every child at all times; but instead of taking property tax dollars from one family and giving it to their wealthier neighbor, we should be fixing the issue at the public school. Most of the people receiving EFAs were never in public school, so they do not actually know if the public school is a good fit. It is ludicrous to think that in our community, an EFA should pay for the $42,000/year private school."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"The way the questions are written is vague-- as are most abortion laws. We need to make sure we are doing everything to protect a mother or baby with a medical emergency. We cannot have women dying and going into sepsis because our laws are so overreaching we have taken away abortion healthcare. The unintended consequences of legislators writing medical legislation is exponential. We should be focused on providing easy access to birth control, and let women focus on their medical care."

Should NH add a broad-based sales tax?
"I am against a broad-based sales tax; but like it or not, we have to have a tax base to keep our public sector functioning (roads plowed, etc...). It's time to take the burden off of property tax owners living in their primary residence, and off of small family business entrepreneurs running in-community businesses, by creating a consumption tax on luxury items. (Example: A $90 bottle of wine at the grocery store is not the same as a family purchasing $90 of food at the grocery store)."

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?
"Many family businesses run a profit smaller than the pay of employees working for large corporations. If we don't want to ask those employees pulling in 6+ figures of income to pay, then why do we ask our small family businesses to pay? We cannot lump small businesses and large corporations under the same category."

Should New Hampshire add a tax on capital gains?
"We have to be really careful not to harm people who are already being pre-taxed in NH on their long term capital gains. For example: my home continues to be assessed at higher rates each year due to what new neighbors/investors are paying for property. This is forcing me to pay higher property taxes based on a rate well above my purchase price. I'm already paying the gains each and every year on my home (long term investment). If I were being taxed at the rate I purchased the home for, then yes the gains could be taxed upon selling, but because we already force people to be taxed for anticipated gains, we should absolutely not double tax the gains. With that said, short term investors who make quick gains on flipping assets should be charged as they are creating the falsely inflated housing prices in communities on those with long term investments. "

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?
"We are the only state in New England not in the U.S. Climate Alliance. We are falling behind in our region and not setting our younger generation up for the jobs of the future. Our children are moving out, and we are losing our workforce. Carroll County District 7 has a median age of ~56.7. We need to bring more alternative energy solutions to NH that will help the climate and create jobs."

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?
"I support making sure every citizen has the right to vote. Voting should be easy and private. Done this way, the voter is giving up their right to a private vote. We should work to first count their vote, and then back it out if they do not get their identifying documents in before the deadline. They should be assigned a number that is attached to their vote. If documents don't arrive, then the vote can be removed anonymously."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Local control is best, unless a city or town needs assistance with a housing crisis. If you have a tent city--you need housing, and zoning barriers should be assessed properly and lifted where needed. If a town or city cannot handle their humanitarian housing crisis, then state aid/direction is imperative. State zoning should not control short term rentals as that is a local issue and local municipalities should have the right to zone for their specific community."

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?
"Cleaner energy through renewable sources is good for NH. We help do our part in fighting climate change, and we open up a new source of revenue and careers for our young generations."

Should the state increase funding for child care providers?
"We need to do more to help every child care provider access the current Opportunities to Succeed (OTS) Grant, the Child Care Workforce Grant (CCWG), and other time sensitive grants like CCDF Discretionary Quality Incentive Grant (CDQI). We also need to educate those providers to empower families by helping them understand how to navigate the process to receive assistance and scholarships. Supporting our families and caring for families is caring for our future."

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"Our current system is not equitable. In Governor Wentworth Regional School District, Effingham will be paying $17.38/1,000 and Tuftonboro only $4.32/1,000 for their school Tax Rate in 2024-2025. All our public school children in NH deserve an equally funded education no matter their zip code."

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?
"We currently have a cannabis crisis. Our surrounding states have legalized cannabis for recreation. This has forced all the illegal drug trade into NH, and onto our children. Control the drug and you better control the flow of what's illegally on our streets. With proper programs in place, we can educate our children as to the dangers. We also need to make sure all the loopholes surrounding states have for sales to under 21 are closed. Currently Maine has licensed medical professionals who will give an 18 year old a medical marijuana card after a 20 second phone call if the teen says they have anxiety. This cannot happen here and should be specifically written into our laws. We also need to treat cannabis the way we treat liquor, legalization doesn't mean you can smoke everywhere and anywhere at all times."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?
"New Hampshire's lack of a minimum wage is failing us and we are losing our working class who are commuting to our New England neighbors. CT: $15.69 MA: $15.00 ME: $14.15 RI: $14.00 VT: 13.67 NH: Federal Minimum Wage of $7.25 It's time for us to compete in the New England market by matching VT for all businesses, and any large business with over 50 employees should be at $15.00. The working class can no longer pay extra taxes to support the employees of large businesses like Walmart's employees with public assistance programs. Walmart's low-wage workers cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $6.2 billion in public assistance including food stamps, Medicaid and subsidized housing, according to a report published by Americans for Tax Fairness, a coalition of 400 national and state-level progressive groups."

Should New Hampshire add legal protections for residents of other states who travel here for health care related to abortion or gender transition?
"I'm not sure who wrote this questions, but abortion healthcare, and gender affirming care are not the same. If our state offers needed medical care, then of course, yes, we should allow others to access our resources."

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?
"[Art.] 3. [Society, its Organization and Purposes.] When men enter into a state of society, they surrender up some of their natural rights to that society, in order to ensure the protection of others; and, without such an equivalent, the surrender is void. June 2, 1784 Gun violence is a national tragedy in our country. Our laws should reflect our state and not be generated from outside. Gun control for NYC is not what is needed for rural NH. NH has a high gun death suicide rate. We need sensible laws that help those struggling with depression and addiction that could lead to them harming themselves or others. It is time to add mental health records to our background checks."
