Direct Dept. of Energy to create pole attachment formula
Summary:
Grants the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) the authority to create and enforce a pole attachment formula.
The House rewrote the bill. According to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee, their version of the bill requires the Department of Energy to investigate how to create a version of a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) formula to resolve disputes between utility pole owners and the technology providers who need to rent space on those poles.
