Allow prosecution for death after drug use where drug was distributed or where person died
Summary:
If different elements of the offense occur in more than one county or judicial district, this bill allows prosecution to occur in either county or judicial district.
The Senate rewrote the new bill so that it only applies to the crime of "distribution of a controlled drug with death resulting." The crime could be prosecuted either where the drug was distributed or where the person using the drugs died.
