Prohibit insurers from discriminating based on participation in federal drug pricing program

Summary:

Prohibits a health insurance issuer, pharmacy benefit manager, other third-party payer, or its agent from discriminating against an entity that participates in the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program. According to the federal Government Accountability Office, the 340B Program requires drug manufacturers to sell outpatient drugs at discounted prices at some hospitals for those drugs to be covered by Medicaid.
