SB 485 (2024)
Make rules on occupational experience for military spouses and veterans, criminalize malicious reports of child abuse
Allows "digitally verifiable licenses, certificates, or permits" to prove occupational experience or training for military spouses and veterans. The Senate amended the bill to lay out in more detail how the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification should facilitate temporary occupational licensure for military service members and their spouses (including issuance of a digitally verifiable license).
The House rewrote the bill. Their version of the bill requires boards and commissions to adopt rules regarding what constitutes military education, training, or service acceptable for each regulated occupation or profession. The House then added the text of HB 1111. That bill makes it a misdemeanor to intentionally make false reports of child abuse and neglect "maliciously and with intent to cause harm."
The Senate rejected these House changes.
