Various regulatory changes related to child care licensing
Makes several regulatory changes related to child care. First, this bill removes the requirement for child care employment eligibility cards, and instead simply requires the state to notify a person if they are eligible to be employed in a child care program. Second, this bill removes the requirement that the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) give notice of a residential child care facility's license to the local health officer and local fire department. Third, this bill revises the specialized care license from a 2-year to a 3-year license cycle. Lastly, this bill authorizes DHHS to to fine residential child care facilities and child placing agencies for noncompliance with licensure requirements. This bill was a request from DHHS.
