Require defendants to repay state for legal counsel
Summary:
Removes the requirement for defendants to repay the state for legal counsel fees if they cannot afford them.
The House rewrote the bill. The new bill reinstates laws that require defendants to repay the state for legal counsel, even if they are found not guilty, unless the court finds they are financially unable to pay.
