Summary:
Requires cities and towns to give two months notice of the annual tax-exemption filing deadline for tax-exempt organizations, such as 501(c)3 nonprofits.
The Senate amended the bill to clarify that towns and cities only need to send notifications to charitable organizations that filed the previous year but have yet to do so for the current year.
A conference committee of representatives and senators failed to agree on a final version of the bill.
