Regulate transfer of student personally identifiable information to third parties

Summary:

States, "Student personally identifiable information shall only be transferred to a third party on the condition that such party will not permit any other party to have access to such information without the written consent of the parents of the student." This bill also requires schools to notify parents when student personally identifiable data is released to a third party.

The House and Senate could not agree on a final version of the bill.
