Report on budget requirements to protect social security, veterans benefits for children in state care

Summary:

Clarifies the obligation of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to ensure that social security payments and veterans benefits for children in state care be held securely until the child turns eighteen or is no longer in the care of the state.

The House rewrote the bill. The new bill requires DHHS to prepare a report on budget requirements associated with management of social security and veterans benefits for children in placement.
