HB 1474 (2024)

Reduce quorum requirement for Commission on Native American Affairs

Summary:

Amends the procedures and duties of the Commission on Native American Affairs. For example, this bill says that of the ten public members of the commission, "Only a single member of any indigenous group may serve as representative at one time."

The Senate rewrote the bill. The Senate version of the bill modified the quorum requirements for the Commission on Native American Affairs, from 9 members to "50 percent of the appointed members plus one additional member." This would make it easier for the Commission to meet quorum requirements.
