HB 1240 (2020)
Criminalize all sexual contact between students and educators
Provides that a teacher, school employee, or administrator who engages in sexual activity with a student between 13 and 18 years of age is guilty of felonious sexual assault or aggravated felonious sexual assault. The House made some amendments to the bill, for example to criminalize contact up to ten months after a student's graduation. The Senate amended the bill to also establish a special marriage officiant license (similar to HB 1599). The amended bill also modifies requirements for renewal of pharmacy licenses. Lastly, the amended bill adds athletic trainers and genetic counselors to the list of licensed professionals who can get a temporary license in New Hampshire if they are licensed in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New York, or Vermont (similar to the original text of HB 1491).
