HB 1188 (2024)
Streamline requirements for LNAs
Summary:
Divides the nursing application requirements into two groups: one for APRNs, RNs, and LPNs, and another for licensed nursing assistants (LNAs). Under this bill, LNAs would no longer have to demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing English. The Board of Nursing would establish rules on the level of English proficiency required.
According to the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee, "This bill, as amended, streamlines the application process for LNA licensing by combining the licensing and registry applications, hence cutting back on the time it takes to secure an LNA license in NH."
