HB 1158 (2024)

Exempt teens on small vessels selling food from registration, set exam requirements for commercial vessel operators

Summary:

Exempts vessels under 15 feet in length that sell foodstuffs or non-alcoholic beverages to the public from vessel registration requirements, provided the owner of such vessel does not make more than $5,000 in gross receipts from sales during a calendar year.

The House rewrote the bill. The new bill allows a young person age 14 to 18 to operate a small commercial vessel, selling prepackaged food and beverages, without a certificate.
