HB 1127 (2024)

Revise law against driving with suspended or revoked license

Summary:

Revises the law against driving with a suspended or revoked license to include the phrase "upon a way." According to the bill analysis, "This bill allows individuals with suspended licenses to mow their lawns without penalty." The bill also eliminates the requirement that drivers with suspended licenses surrender their licenses to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Senate amended the bill to add back the text of SB 358. That bill prohibits undocumented/illegal immigrants that were issued a license in another state from driving in New Hampshire, with a misdemeanor penalty. A conference committee of representatives and senators rejected this addition, however.
